Grundtvig Programme

About the Grundtvig Programme

The Grundtvig programme funds training opportunities for adult education organisations, staff and learners. Adult educators can be involved in structured courses, conferences and even job shadowing. Organisations can be part of exciting partnerships to share innovation and good practice, get involved in exchange projects for senior volunteers or host fun innovative workshops for learners from across Europe.
Anyone in non-vocational adult education can participate including adult learners, staff, volunteers and trainers from a wide variety of organisations including colleges, charities, community groups, local authorities, museums, prisons etc. All projects involve working with European partners and offer a great learning and personal development experience for staff and learners.
Grundtvig is part of the European Commission's Lifelong Learning Programme. At Ecorys we are the UK National Agency for the Grundtvig programme. This means that we manage the Grundtvig grants available to UK organisations and individuals.

About the Lifelong Learning Programme

The Lifelong Learning Programme is a European funding programme, which
supports education and training across Europe. It is made up of several different programmes covering the whole spectrum of lifelong learning. At Ecorys we are the UK National Agency for Grundtvig and another two of these programmes:
  • The Leonardo programme supports the development of skills and training. It funds work placements for trainees, workers and staff, and supports European partnership projects to improve quality in training.
  • The Transversal programme supports education and training organisations in the areas of policy, languages, ICT and dissemination. Ecorys is responsible for a programme of Study Visits designed to share best practice in education across Europe.
